I recently found out about this interesting site called Verbling. It’s an online platform that connects teachers and students for online classes which cost about fifteen U.S. dollars.
To be honest, I’m tempted to sign up just to practice my Japanese and also because I’m curious about the teacher’s experience. I tend to charge a good deal more than $15 for a private lesson. This is because of the huge amount of time it takes out of my day. It means travel time to the location and home again. Added to that are the numerous times students show up late and the class runs over. Plus, you have to calculate and charge for travel expenses and the cost of getting a coffee to keep your table at the Starbucks or wherever you have a lesson.
This format takes away all those hassles. I’m not sold on the effectiveness of online classes because, so far I’ve only had mixed results in trying them.
So, what do you think?
Do you use Verbling either as a teacher or as a student?
How is it?
Would you recommend it to your friends?
I want to know.
