When I needed materials to help my son learn to read and write, I made them!
Learning the English alphabet is a great first step into reading and understanding the wonderful world of words all around us – and words become ideas. With my son, I started with letters and writing for fun, then started moving into letter pairs and phonics. We played games with letter combinations, and just tried to read as many bedtime stories as possible. In our case, the main thing was just to enjoy the adventure.
